Energy Efficiency Rating (EER)*

The ACT has the longest-running (since 1999) mandatory disclosure home energy efficiency rating system in the world. If you're about to sell a home in the ACT, you must have an accredited Building Assessor do an Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) assessment, which is then made available to prospective buyers. The Civil Law (Sale of Property) Act 2003 requires all homes being sold in the ACT to carry an energy efficiency rating. This enables owners and buyers to compare a home’s passive energy performance characteristics with others for sale in the Territory.

ACT Building Approvals is the only Property Inspection firm with NatHERS® accredited and licenced Cola Class A Building Assessors that are endorsed to use all first- & second-generation Energy Efficiency software.

*Sellers should exercise caution when using non-accredited NatHERS® Assessors, NatHERS® Assessors undergo Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training throughout their professional lives unlike Cola Licenced Building Assessors. Energy efficiency rating statement that are false or misleading can cost the seller 0.5% of the sale price.
